  The "design of Controller for permanent magnet brushless DC motor (BLDCM)" is studied on in this thesis, and the key technologies are presented,such as motor starting, rotor position detection, controlling method and power factor correction. At last, the controlling system is designed and the details is given for design of software and hardware.Controlling solution Block Ceramic Magnets for BLDCM is discussed, the method for rotor position detection is analyzed and the circuit is designed for rotor position detection based on Back EMF. At the same time, it is studied on how to start BLDCM by "Three step" starting technique, how to adopt PID to regulate speed in closed loop to make motor run more reliably. In order to satisfy "3C" standards, the power factor corrector (PFC) is induced in system and the design parameter is given in details. At last, use Infineon XC164CM as controlling core and the controlling system is designed.It is showed by the experiment results that the controller is better than others at these sides, such as fast starting, stabilization and wide speed regulation, and it is also cheap. The power factor is higher. So the controller would be used widely.
